Plus tips, news & Buffer updates for your social media journey
I don't have much to say this week, because my mind and feed have been overrun by the ✨Olympics ✨. My favorite thing so far has been watching all the content on social from athletes and attendees. I've been enjoying gymnastics, volleyball, swimming, shooting, and, surprisingly enough, rugby. Specifically women's rugby. And my feed definitely knows it. The Algorithm has never fed me so much content I didn't know I needed. Are you watching the Olympics avidly or casually? Let me know what you're enjoying the most — I'm @tamioladipo on most social platforms π. Before we get into it, I wanted to share a new podcast called Tasteland, hosted by Francis Zierer, who runs the Creator Spotlight newsletter, and Daisy Alioto, CEO of Dirt, one of my favorite media companies. There's no partnership by the way — I'm just excited to hear from two content powerhouses about digital culture, and I think you'll find it helpful too. That's it from me, have a great weekend! |

YouTube Community Posts are like a mini Facebook or Twitter/X Feed tied to your YouTube Channel, allowing you to share lightweight updates with your audience — handy for keeping your audience engaged. They're another way the social media platform makes a great one-stop-shop for building an audience. Try not to think of YouTube Community Posts as yet another channel you need to create content on. Instead, consider them a way to maintain a connection with your subscribers on your community tab without doing the heavy lifting of creating new videos—an essential part of your YouTube content strategy. There are three ways to create a Community Post: - In the YouTube app, select Create post (the + icon), then hit 'Post.' Perfect for sharing on the go.
- In the web version of YouTube, go to the 'Community' tab, where you'll find the post composer.
- In YouTube Studio, click the 'Create' button on the top right hand corner.
Here are some tips to make the most of YouTube Community Posts - Post and reply regularly
- Mix up your content
- Tease upcoming content
- Redirect your audience to older videos
- Share behind-the-scenes content
- Share bloopers
- Highlight fan-generated content
- Run contests and giveaways
- Shared branded content or affiliate links
- Ask for feedback or gather ideas

π±Social tip of the week from Mitra, Buffer's Social Media Manager |
"Emergency" π¨ (TikTok ver.) (Instagram ver.) Have you seen this trend taking over Instagram and TikTok? People are using this audio to show different outfits they wear, but you can totally switch it up by showing your products. Or you can have some fun and show how you dress in your work environment! Just have each clip sync with the beat of the music and add text that says "this trend but [insert what you're showing here]." I love this example from @hhbagels showing different cream cheese schemers you could get on a bagel! |
