Plus, tips, news & Buffer updates for your social media journey
Hey folks 👋🏾 It's been an interesting week in social, with the launch of TikTok Notes (their take on a photo + text app rivaling Instagram) and Airchat (voice notes for social – groundbreaking).
Plus, a video by influencer Leah Halston is set to break the record of "most-liked video" on TikTok. And Instagram completely switched up the user interface of Stories (I don't like it).
You can say a lot about the social media industry, but you have to admit that it's never boring.
If you're wondering how I keep up with it all, it's simple: stay in all day and scroll through X and TikTok. With that easy recipe, you too, can develop random knowledge of different social media apps.

🖊️ Deep dive: How to Make Money on Instagram in 2024 |
Here are seven LinkedIn content ideas (and prompts) that B2B companies can use to refresh their marketing strategy. - Curate industry news, insights and trends: Create a simple infographic highlighting the latest trends in your field. Share this infographic on LinkedIn with a thoughtful caption that provides your company's take on how these trends will shape the future of marketing.
- Showcase success stories: Create a series of short video testimonials featuring satisfied clients. Share these videos on LinkedIn briefly describing the client's challenge and how your company helped them overcome it. Remember to include a call to action encouraging viewers to learn more about your offerings.
- Promote your company culture and values: Create a "Day in the Life" series featuring different employees and their roles within your company. Share these posts on LinkedIn with a caption that emphasizes your company's core values and how they guide your team's work.
- Go live: Host a live Q&A session with your company's CEO or a prominent industry expert. Promote the event on LinkedIn in the weeks leading up to it, and encourage your followers to submit questions in advance. During the live session, answer these questions and engage with viewers in real time to build a stronger connection with your audience.
- Collaborate with industry influencers: At your next (or first) webinar or virtual event, invite a few relevant creators or experts to participate, then build on the relationship from there.
- Harness internal advocates as influencers: Feature internal advocates in Ask Me Anything sessions on a topic that aligns with their expertise.
- Repurpose content from other channels: If you have a popular blog post, repurpose it for LinkedIn by creating a condensed version or pulling out key insights for a carousel or video. Share this adapted content on LinkedIn with a caption encouraging readers to visit your website for the full article.

📱Social tip of the week from Mitra, Buffer's Social Media Manager |
"Jumping into something new!" This is such a cute and fun trend on TikTok right now! If you're in the travel industry, it's absolutely perfect for you, but even if you're not, you can tailor it to work for your business. We're imagining that if you have a brick-and-mortar shop or a studio, you can show yourself jumping into your store/studio space. Another idea is that if you can show any kind of before-and-after, you can switch between the two! Check out this example for the original travel trend, and this cute example at a graduation ceremony. |
🤳 What's happening in social? | - Instagram is testing a program that will allow top influencers to interact with their followers over DMs using a chatbot
- Speaking of Instagram, you may have seen an AI search bar replace the regular one in your app — Meta's testing it out. Pro-tip: ask it for Reels suggestions to get ideas for your next post
- Airchat! It's the latest (invite-only) social app, and it's built around ✨voice notes✨
