I've been pulling from personal experience a lot more lately to create content across Buffer and my personal platforms. And it's not just me — the whole team's been doing it too! It's part of an effort we're internally calling "Team of Creators," where everyone on the team has been taking on the challenge of becoming creators to better step into you, our readers' shoes. We have team members going viral on Threads, publishing LinkedIn newsletters, venturing into video content, and more! As someone who has been doing the creator thing slightly longer (and knows how challenging it can be), the effort from the Buffer team to show up as creators has been nothing but incredible to watch. It's not gone unnoticed either — people in and out of our community have had lovely things to say about our sometimes coordinated, most times not, content across different platforms. So if you've spotted us, just know that it's entirely on purpose and we're very proud of the work that we're doing with way more too come. Let's get into it. |

How to Find Trending Audio on Instagram |
You don't need to scroll for hours to catch the latest trending audio on Instagram. Whether you're a creator, a marketer, or just trying to get your Reels seen by more people, here's how to find the sounds that are taking off — and how to make them work for your brand, not against it. Here are 10 ways to find trending sounds: - Check Instagram's Trending tab: When adding music to your Reel, tap the "Trending" tab to see what's rising. Bookmark what stands out.
- Use the Professional Dashboard: Available to professional accounts in the U.S., this gives you direct access to top-trending audio under "Tips & Resources."
- Look for the right arrow ↗️ icon: That arrow next to an audio name? It means the sound is gaining traction.
- Tap audio titles on Reels: See how many people are using the track and whether it's still building momentum.
- Search keywords like "trending audio": You might uncover emerging tracks beyond your algorithm bubble.
- Follow @creators on Instagram: They regularly post trends and sound recaps, including inside tips.
- Scroll with intention: If you hear a sound more than once in different contexts, it's likely trending.
- Use apps like ReelTrends or TrendTok: These track trends across platforms and predict what's about to pop.
- Watch TikTok and YouTube Shorts: Trends often start there and spill over to Instagram.
- Bookmark Buffer's Instagram audio list: We update it regularly so you always have fresh options ready to go.
While you're at it, here are some common pitfalls to avoid when navigating trending audio on Instagram: - Jumping in too late. By the time everyone is using it, the moment may have passed.
- Using audio that doesn't fit your brand. Always do a vibe check before posting.
- Not checking licensing. Business accounts can't always use the same audio as personal ones.
- Copying without adding anything new. A trend only works if your take feels authentic and fresh.
Finally, here are some best practices for using trending audio on Instagram: - Add your twist. Don't just replicate — remix.
- Stay niche-aware. Choose sounds that align with your brand's vibe.
- Use text overlays. Help viewers follow the story, especially if your sound isn't self-explanatory.
- Join early. Getting in before the peak gives you a better shot at visibility.
- Keep it fun. Reels are meant to be playful. If you're enjoying it, your audience probably will too.
📌 Need a place to stash trending audio ideas? Use Buffer's Create Space to save inspiration and build your content pipeline without pressure. |
